Sarah Smith, our Director of Marketing, is one of those key players that keeps RSL at the top of the industry.
On a daily basis, Sarah achieves success for our clients and our company by applying her analytical background, marketing experience, and common sense. Year over year, she works to improve Rakuten Super Logistics’ reach and help more online retailers. In 2020, she helped the company achieve over 300% revenue growth.
Her career began as a forecasting and business operations analyst in the CPG vertical. After moving to Las Vegas in 2005, she fell in love with digital marketing – where she has been for over 15 years. She spent most of her time in the travel industry before making the switch to B2B marketing. As a member of Rakuten Super Logistics, Sarah's biggest asset is her knowledge. She understands what drives businesses and how to strategically implement digital promotions to generate optimum campaign ROI. She is dedicated to increasing brand recognition and conveying what a great company RSL is to work with as well as work for.
Here’s what she had to share about her experience with Rakuten Super Logistics and why this 20 year milestone is so important.
What is your biggest accomplishment with RSL?
My biggest accomplishment is the opportunity to set an example as a woman in leadership. Rakuten Americas started a Women at Rakuten Leadership Council and asked for me to participate. It’s an honor to serve on this council with other business unit female executives.

What do you enjoy most about working at RSL?
I love the people. RSL has a great team atmosphere, and everyone is friendly. For example, when I occasionally have to go to one of our warehouses, the staff is always welcoming me, even if they haven’t seen me in six months! It’s like working with family!
In your opinion, what makes RSL different from other competitors?
Our network of fulfillment centers spans coast to coast. With 15 facilities in the US, we hit 99% of the US in a 2-day ground delivery network. The significance here is the cost savings for our clients and their consumers. Faster delivery for less money!
Who are you outside of work?
I love to read a lot – you will always find me reading at least one book, sometimes two! I also love baking, especially in the winter and taking our two dogs for hikes. Frankly, the more time I spend outside, the better I feel mentally. I did try knitting once – that didn’t last!
