In 2020, eCommerce grew by over 30%. Many business owners doubled and even tripled their inventory. Instead of just surviving the pandemic, online retailers thrived. Here are their stories.

“At the start of 2020, I was afraid my business would close. By the end of the year, I doubled my profit!” - Beauty Retailer

CEO, Raeyan, had been in business since 2019 but had only sold $150 worth of her beauty products. However, 2020 completely transformed her business and helped her dramatically increase her sales.

“At the start of 2020, I had exhausted my support system for sales and was afraid my business wouldn’t be able to continue its journey. Then, everything changed. I started growing from 1 to 2 sales a month to sales every other day. I went from making $40 a month in January and February to $300 a month in March, twice that in April, and in May and June I made over $1,000. 2020 created an opportunity for my business to grow, and it has even allowed me to help other businesses launch.”

“I started my business during the pandemic. Through perseverance, I was able to devote 100% of my time to my business and expand my customer base to 15 states!” - Candle Retailer

CEO, Kassandra, decided to launch her online candle business in 2020. Although there were many challenges facing startups, she was able to create higher quality products for her customers and increase her profits tenfold.

“Starting a business during the pandemic was extremely challenging but really pushed me to accomplish all the goals I set. I started my business in March 2020 with only 100 dollars of start-up money. Fast forward 11 months, I’ve sold over 1,600 products in 15 states across the US. I was able to quit my full-time job and committed myself 100% to my business. Now, I am also helping other small businesses starting up and am able to offer guidance on how to truly grow.”

Although the pandemic was devastating and continues to be a challenge in 2021, eCommerce sellers are working hard to meet the needs of their customers. As the year progresses, the high demand for eCommerce is expected to increase giving online retailers more opportunities to thrive.
